HARDEST PARTHardest Part Q&A
Q: What is Coldplay's song "The Hardest Part" about? I know it must be something about heartbreak, as most of their songs are, but a lot of the metaphors, such as "waiting for that bell to ring," and "the silver lining," and the "taste in my mouth," are lost on me. Do any other Coldplay fans know or could hazard a guess? Thanks A: I think generally what they're talking about is how hard it is to watch someone you know/love move on...away from you. Do things without you that you used to do...enjoy things without you that you used to enjoy together...and that emptiness you feel when you can't have that anymore. Sometimes you get stuck in that place, reliving the memories and such while they seem to be just fine. At least, that's what I take away from it.
